Description
Day 1 – Saturday 25th October 2025
Our African adventure begins at Fancourt Leisure Resort & Spa on South Africa’s iconic Garden Route, voted the No.1 golf destination in SA. You will be met at George airport in the arrivals hall and transferred the short journey by luxury coach to Fancourt. Situated in the heart of the Garden Route at the foot of Outeniqua mountains, Fancourt is a haven for golfers with beautifully appointed rooms, haute cuisine restaurants, lush gardens, relaxing spa, iconic golf courses and state of the art practice facilities.
We will celebrate the start of our trip with welcome drinks in the evening.
Day 2 – Sunday 26th October 2025
After breakfast we will head to the Montagu course to play our first round of golf. This layout is a visual treat from first tee to 18th green, its broad holes framed by attractive vegetation, trees and gardens, set against a backdrop of the Outeniqua mountain range.
The Montagu is the older course, many of its holes being part of a 27-hole facility when Fancourt opened in 1992. A further 9 holes were completed in 1997, when the Montagu and Outeniqua adopted separate identities. Famed for its superb conditioning and fast-paced firm greens, the course consistently ranks inside the Top 5 courses in SA.(half-way meal & drinks included)
After the 19th hole, there will be time to freshen before our first group dinner with drinks at one of Fancourt’s renowned restaurants.
Day 3 – Monday 27th October 2025
Following breakfast, we will transfer by luxury coach to Pinnacle Point.
It is one of a rare group of golf courses in the world built on high cliffs overlooking the ocean. It’s a spectacular experience and ranks with the likes of Pebble Beach in California, Old Head in Ireland, Kauri Cliffs in New Zealand and Playa Grande in the Dominican Republic.
Pinnacle Point has twice been named Africa’s Best Golf Course and South Africa’s Best Golf Course in 2022 and 2020 at the World Golf Awards.
Several of the holes are amazing in terms of wow factor, and even when you’re playing inland you still enjoy wonderful views of the Indian Ocean. The Peter Matkovich course in Mossel Bay is possibly South Africa’s major golf attraction and has been described as golf on an “Imax Screen.”
After golf we will return to the Fancourt resort for an evening at your leisure.
Day 4 – Tuesday 28th October 2025
Today is a leisure day. After breakfast, why not explore the Fancourt Estate or go further afield. Enjoy your day at one of the pools, play a game of tennis, stroll, jog or cycle on the estate, go fishing or enjoy botanical walks through the lush gardens. All equipment is available – fishing rods and tackle, tennis rackets and bicycles.
Enjoy one of the treatments in the beautifully appointed spa and relax in the Roman Baths. Prefer adventure & safari? The Big Five private game reserve, Botlierskop is nearby at Mossel Bay. Or… play the # 2 ranked golf course in South Africa: The Links Fancourt Estate’s iconic golfing hallmark.
(for additional activities fees will apply)
Day 5 – Wednesday 29th October 2025
Following a leisurely breakfast, we will play Fancourt’s Outeniqua golf course named after the imposing Outenqiua Mountains which surround the estate. Shorter than its sister Montagu, the terrain constantly differs, with notable elevation changes in places, particularly along the tree-lined boundary of the property. With 11 holes with water hazards, the course is always in immaculate condition and is one of the reasons Fancourt is SA No.1 golf resort. (Half-way house meal & drinks included)
We will end the day (and our stay) with a group dinner and drinks at another of Fancourt’s magnificent restaurants.
Day 6 – Thursday 30th October 2025
After our final delicious breakfast at Fancourt’s La Cantina restaurant, we will transfer by luxury coach to the stunning town of Franschhoek in the heart of South Africa’s winelands and check-in to the Protea Hotel.
This charming and picturesque area was founded by the French in 1688. It is home to centuries-old vineyards, Cape Dutch architecture and some of the top restaurants in the country.
The evening will be at your leisure to maybe dine at one of the many fabulous restaurant in town.
Day 7 – Friday 31st October 2025
Following breakfast, we will embark on a full day tour of the Cape’s winelands. Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl.
Founded in the late 1600s, South Africa’s wine industry is world renowned. The day will include various wine tastings, together with a cellar tour and lunch.
Apart from the opportunity to taste delicious wines, the tour offers an insight into the kaleidoscope of events and challenges that have made South Africa unique.
One of the highlights of the day will be a visit to the Ernie Els winery in Stellenbosch. Ernie’s trophy room is magnificent and so are his wines!
Day 8 – Saturday 1st November 2025
After breakfast, we will take the short drive to Pearl Valley Golf Estate. Ranked No.3 in SA, this Jack Nicklaus signature course is considered the foremost amongst his six designs in the country.
Laid out within a 500-acre residential estate in the Cape Winelands, Pearl Valley is one of the most visually pleasing courses imaginable, with brilliant white river sand bunkers that contrast sharply against the varying emerald hues of the fairways and greens. It has regularly been rated as one of the best conditioned courses in the country.
After play, we will enjoy a group dinner with drinks in the stunning clubhouse.
Day 9 – Sunday 2nd November 2025
After our final breakfast in Franschhoek we will embark on a full day Cape Point tour. Cape Town is known as South Africa’s “Mother City” with a fascinating history of spice traders and Cape Malay cuisine under the magnificence of Table Mountain. Cape Point is the southwestern tip of the Cape Peninsula with some say, the most spectacular views in the world.
The drive is just as inspiring, passing steep mountains, secluded coves, sweeping beaches, villages and fishing communities. We will pass the glorious views of the Twelve Apostles, which are part of the Table Mountain range, continuing to the fishing village of Hout Bay. From there we will travel to the Cape Point Nature Reserve, comprising over 17,300 acres of indigenous fauna and flora. It is possible to see a variety of wildlife, including chacma baboon, reebok, Cape Mountain zebra, ostrich and eland, South Africa’s largest antelope.
Following the coastline along False Bay, we will return to Cape Town by way of Simon’s Town, where we will visit the penguin colony at Boulders Beach. Before our return, we will enjoy afternoon tea and a visit to the Cecil Rhodes Memorial.
Our final destination will be our home for the next 3 nights – the beautifully appointed V&A Hotel. Perfectly situated ,the V&A Waterfront is South Africa’s most visited destination, set against a backdrop of the famous Table Mountain and stunning sea views.
Day 10 – Monday 3rd October 2025
We will start the day with a delicious V&A breakfast with views of iconic Table Mountain. We then take the short journey to Erinvale Golf Club.
Located on the slopes of the Helderberg Mountain overlooking Somerset West, Erinvale sits amongst the many wine estates and fruit farms that dominate the landscape close to Cape Town. Gary Player’s original design has not been tampered with very much, apart from the planting of some new young trees. The huge green complexes – with subtle contouring and clever positioning of greenside bunkers – are Erinvale’s prize assets together with its distinctive bunkering.
After golf we will return to the hotel for a free evening where you can enjoy the many restaurant and bars along the waterfront.
Day 11 – Tuesday 4th November 2025
Our final round will be played today at Steenberg. Peter Matkovich, South Africa’s foremost contemporary golf architect laid out the course here in the mid-1990s. The holes are routed through the Steenberg vineyards; moving from pine-treed parkland to wetland, then to a more heathland section before ending in parkland again.
Steenberg’s glorious bent grass greens, regarded by many as the best in the Western Cape, are worth the experience all on their own, though Steenberg has a lot more to offer than immaculate greens. Like the splendid Cape wines of the region, Steenberg continues to improve with age and provides one of South Africa’s most picturesque and enjoyable golf courses.
Tonight we will celebrate our South African Western Cape tour with our final group presentation dinner & drinks.
Day 12 – Wednesday 5th November 2025
Following one more leisurely breakfast looking up at Table Mountain, we will transfer to Cape Town International Airport. If you are extending your South African adventure, you will be transferred to wherever you need to be.
