Description
Day 1 – Friday 7th November 2025
Our African adventure starts in South Africa’s “City of Gold” Johannesburg. After arriving at the International Airport you will be met by your personal guide for the short walk to the beautifully appointed 5 star InterContinental.
This award-winning luxury hotel is a 60 metre walk from the international terminal. Time to relax, shower and change, ready to enjoy dinner with drinks package included.
Day 2 – Saturday 8th November 2025
After waking on your first morning in South Africa, enjoy a sumptuous breakfast before being escorted to the domestic departure gate for the short internal flight to Skukuza.
After landing you will be met by your personal guide for the transfer into Kruger National Park and the spectacular Kruger Shalati – The Train on the Bridge.
Offering a completely unique safari experience, The Train on the Bridge is permanently stationed on the historically-rich Selati Bridge above the Sabie River, Kruger Shalati, named after an African warrior queen, offers luxury accommodation in train carriages that have been decommissioned and converted into 5-star suites offering incredible views.
The train marks where the first visits to the iconic park were allowed in the early 1920s, when the train would park overnight in the exact spot where Kruger Shalati is positioned.
After check-in, lunch will be served before we settle in to our stunning carriage suites. We’ll enjoy high tea in the pool bar before embarking on an afternoon game drive. We end the day with our first group dinner together (including drinks) in these incredible surroundings.
Day 3 – Sunday 9th November 2025
We will wake up early to go on a game drive. In between tracking the Big 5, we will stop for hot coffee with a warming dash of Amarula.
We will head back for a delicious breakfast, followed by a round of golf at Skukuza known as “the wildest golf course on Earth” Built in the early 1970’s this unique layout wraps around Lake Panic and is the only golf course inside Kruger National Park. Since the course is not fenced-in, uninvited spectators are a common sight, hippo, impala, warthog, baboons and crocodiles to mention but a few. Take plenty of balls, it’s not recommended to go looking for them!
The afternoon drive will give us another opportunity to find some game. We end the day together with a fabulous dinner paired with some of the best wines of SA that Shalati has to offer.
Day 4 – Monday 10th November 2025
Following our final morning game drive and breakfast, we will leave Kruger Shaliti for the transfer to our next destination Buhula Lodge. Your luggage will be transported separately, as we will enjoy travelling by open safari vehicles, the perfect way to combine the need to transfer with the excitement of being “On Safari”
Buhala Lodge is a 5 star hotel overlooking the Crocodile River on the southern banks of Kruger National Park.
From the veranda, whilst enjoying our meals or afternoon tea, you will often see buffalo, hippo, elephant and smaller game like waterbuck and warthog. Opened in 1994 the lodge has remained in the same family ever since.
We will have an afternoon of leisure spoiling ourselves with the delicious afternoon tea served on the veranda, followed by a few G & T’s and concluded with a 3-course dinner with drinks on the lawn. Dinner conversations are often disturbed by the beautiful sounds of hippo, hyenas and lions.
Day 5 – Tuesday 11th November 2025
A day of leisure, or not? Simply relax and enjoy the day at Buhula Lodge, with afternoon tea while taking in the views from the veranda.
Alternatively you can enjoy an additional round at Kambaka Golf Course, one of SA’s renowned 9-hole courses, venture into Kruger National Park for a exhilarating game drive or for the really adventurous, why not embark on a cultural day trip to Swaziland. The choice is yours! (For all additional activities fees will apply).
Dinner & drinks will be enjoyed at Buhala Lodge in the evening.
Day 6 – Wednesday 12th November 2025
After starting our day with breakfast at the lodge, we will make our short journey to Leopard Creek Country Club. We will warm up by first tackling their famous 9 hole par 3 course. Each of the holes are replicas of famous par 3’s from around the world. From the “Postage Stamp” at Royal Troon to the 12th at Augusta National. You can even tackle the island green at the 17th at Sawgrass!
Leopard Creek, the No.1 ranked course in the country and one of only three South African courses in the World Top 100, symbolises the beauty and grandeur of African bushveld golf while at the same time evoking an exclusiveness comparable to Augusta National.
The property occupies a singularly unique site in golf, bordering the broad Crocodile River on the southern boundary of the vast Kruger National Park, and it is this remote location that has captivated television viewers around the globe while watching the annual hosting of the Alfred Dunhill Championship on the European Tour. There is as much interest in the wildlife shown on their screens as on the golf itself. (halfway house meal and drinks included)
Upon return to Buhala Lodge, we will enjoy another delicious 3-course dinner with drinks.
Day 7 – Thursday 13th November 2025
Following our final breakfast at Buhala, we will head by luxury coach to the stunning Highveld town of Dullstroom. A mecca for trout fishing, high end restaurants and antique shopping, the town is known as “a small drinking town, with a big fishing problem”
Walkerson’s Hotel & Spa is a grand country hotel nestled in the rolling hills of the Mpumalanga Highveld. We will have the afternoon to explore the charming village or take a whiskey or gin tasting at Auldstone House. If you are a keen angler, Dullstroom is most widely recognised as South Africa’s premier fly fishing destination in the dams dotted around the estate.
Dinner with drinks will be enjoyed at Walkerson’s restaurant.
Day 8 – Friday 14th November 2025
We are back golfing today. After breakfast we will take the short journey to Highland Gate. This 18 hole Ernie Els signature golf course is widely regarded as his best design to date. Spanning 700 hectares and at a height of some 2000 metres above sea level it is thought to be the highest Top 100 course in South Africa.
Highland Gate is one of South Africa’s newest courses, a spectacular one too which fully embraces the beautiful landscape of the country. It occupies a unique setting in a scenic mountain valley in the Drakensberg escarpment of Mpumalanga. Providing adrenalin-pumping high altitude golf away from the beaten track it is tipped to give Leopard Creek & The Links at Fancourt a run for their money in a battle for the No.1 ranked golf course in SA.(halfway house meal & drinks included)
On our return, we will enjoy a delicious dinner with drinks at Walkerson’s Hotel & Spa.
Day 9 – Saturday 15th November 2025
Following breakfast, we will leave the Highveld town of Dullstroom and head to the “City of Gold”, Johannesburg. Our home for the next three nights is The Rosebank. The first HYDE hotel in Africa, it is situated in one of J’Burg’s most exclusive addresses. This luxury hotel is surrounded by restaurants, bars and high end shopping.
We will enjoy the evening with drinks and our group dinner together.
Day 10 – Sunday 16th November 2025
After breakfast we will head to Royal Johannesburg G.C. The East Championship Course, designed in 1939 by Robert Grimsdell is regarded in the Top Echelon of Courses on the continent. The South African PGA Championship, Joburg Open, and International Final Qualifier (Africa) for the Open Championship all play on this course.
Upon our return to The Rosebank, we will enjoy dinner and drinks in one of the fabulous restaurants.
Day 11 – Monday 17th November 2025
We will commence the day with a leisurely breakfast and then make our way to The River Club. (half-way house meal & drinks included) Founded in 1967 by businessman Punch Barlow, membership is by invitation only and unlike most top South African courses, the River Club does not operate a pay-and-play facility, so the only chance of a game here is through a membership or as a guest of a member. Known as the “Augusta National” of South Africa you will find an immaculate presented layout with tree lined fairways and very slick greens.
Golf commentator Ewan Murray who knows a good golf course when he sees one, believes the last five holes at the River Club, collectively, maybe the best five finishing holes in golf.”
After play we will be served with a special “Grazing Platter” by their chef in the member’s dining room.(drinks included)
Day 12 – Tuesday 18th November 2025
Sadly our SA adventure has come to an end. After our final breakfast together, you will transferred the short journey to J’Burg International Airport for your journey home. Alternatively, if you have chosen to extend your trip you will transferred to your next destination.
